What is MNPolyCon?
MNPolyCon aims to inspire curiosity, challenge conventional beliefs, and cultivate a better understanding of non-monogamy and related topics. The event is open to everyone interested in Minnesota’s non-monogamous and broader communities. MNPolyCon hopes to promote non-monogamy education by fostering a more open-minded culture that accepts diverse relationship frameworks and encourages positive societal changes.

Definition of Polyamory

While we acknowledge that the form and practice of polyamory vary widely between individuals, the following definition is taken from our Bylaws and serves as the organization’s basic working definition of polyamory: “MNPoly defines Polyamory as the belief in- or practice of- sustaining multiple concurrent romantic relationships with the knowledge and consent of all involved.”

Dictionary Definition

polyamory, n.
poly • am • ory
The fact of having simultaneous close romantic relationships with two or more other individuals is viewed as an alternative to monogamy, esp. in regard to matters of sexual fidelity; the custom or practice of engaging in multiple romantic relationships with the knowledge and consent of all partners concerned.

MNPoly is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that exists to provide support, education, advocacy and social connection to the Ethical and Consensual Non-Monogamous Communities of Minnesota. We provide a brave space for all adult Minnesotans (regardless of race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, religion or age) who engage in ethical and consensual non-monogamous relationships to participate in the sharing of ideas, experiences, resources and all forms of support to sustain a continuous community that is responsible, honored and respected.
